Online gaming solutions provider Nektan has recently announced that chief executive Lucy Buckley has resigned from her position with immediate effect, with company’s founder and executive director Gary Shaw to be taking over on an interim basis.
Buckley was first named chief executive of Nektan in October of 2018, and began the role on 3 December. She joined after eight years with Inspired Entertainment, where she climbed the latter to become vice president of the supplier’s interactive division. However, she said that as a result of a recent restructuring of the business, that it was the right thing to do for her to step down from the role. She added that the business has a strong foundation of proprietary technology, along with a fast growing B2B business that will help them capitalize on many international opportunities in coming years.
As a result Shaw will be returning to the position of interim CEO. He previously held this role from June 2017, when previous CEO Leigh Nissim left the company, until Buckley’s appointment in October last year. He will combine the CEO role with his existing duties and will be leading the business’ international expansion.
Talking about Lucy’s leaving, Shaw stated that he would like to thank her for her stewardship during a period of much change within the UK market. He added that the company remains confident that their sales have the scope to drive revenue growth in both the B2C and B2B divisions.
