Former Vera&John Chief Executive Johan Konigslehner has recently announced his acquisition of Viral Interactive ahead of the opening of the Swedish market, which is set to open at the beginning of 2019. Viral Interactive is the current operator of well-known brand, LuckyCasino.
The company that has acquired Viral Interactive and is owned by Konigslehner is Glitnor Group, which has bought Viral Interactive’s assets from Fortuity Holdings. Glitnor Group was first registered in Malta on the 20th of April under the name Glitnor Holdings Limited.
Konigslehner worked as CEO for Vera&John for over five years, which ended in October in 2016. An announcement from Glitnor states that the company is being backed by a team of industry and iGaming veterans, and that the company looks to be ideally positioned to capitalise on the recent regulatory changes that have just taken place in Sweden.
Although the financial details of the deal were not disclosed to the public, it has been announced that former CEO of Viral Interactive, Daniel Eriksson, has stepped down to take on the role of head of business development for Glitnor.
Eriksson told reporters that being part of Viral Interactive’s growth and seeing the development of LuckyCasino has been a positive experience for him. He added that becoming part of Glitnor and driving their growth in the upcoming months will be challenging, but that he is looking forward to working for the new group and meeting any challenges that may arise.
