World-renowned iGaming software developer Microgaming has now distributed almost NZ$60 000 -£30 000- among four different charities thanks to its PlayItForward Corporate Social Responsibility, or CSR, initiative.
Through their Gift of Giving programme, customers of Microgaming can vote for charities in their home regions, in the United Kingdom and the rest of the world, as recipients for the charitable donations this developer makes on a regular basis.
Instead of spending money on purchasing Christmas presents, Microgaming makes donations to the charities that players have selected in their respective regions. The most recent vote took place in December of 2017, as part of their Gift of Giving enterprise, and the company donated almost NZ$300 000, £150 000, to chosen charities at that time.
For the second year in a row the European Teenage Cancer Trust, the Isle of Man Women’s Refuge, Save the Rhino International in Africa, and Médecins Sans Frontières, or Doctors without Borders, were the charities to receive the most votes. Each of the foundations are set to receive substantial payouts from the British mobile and casino gaming specialist as a result.
Women’s Refuge has been providing support for victims of domestic abuse for over 20 years, and the Teenage Cancer Trust deals with persons between the ages of 13 and 24 battling this disease. Save the Rhino International supports these endangered animals across Africa and Asia, and Médecins Sans Frontières is a charity that offers emergency medical care to the victims of natural disasters, disease epidemics, poverty, and armed conflicts.
