Scientific Games Expands With Brazilian Studio
As if their recent massive acquisitions and content deals weren’t enough for the company, Scientific Games has announced that they will be buying a majority stake in the Brazilian based EsysnetG. The company focuses on video Bingo software and content. The price of this acquisition was not revealed but the studio must be dancing in the street.
The Brazilian online gambling market is currently up in the air due to the government’s inability to finalise new online gambling laws. This means that it is potentially very difficult, even dangerous to start developing online casino apps in the country for the local market. This deal gives the talented development studio a legitimate focus on international markets.
Scientific Games’s deep pockets has seen them purchase Nyx gaming a few short weeks ago for $630 million and now, with their 2017 financial report looming on Wednesday they announce another purchase. The strong leadership at SG is certainly working with a plan. They already have a huge stake in land based casino services in the US and their online gambling portfolio has grown in leaps and bounds. We can only guess what SG has in store for the rest of the year.
GIG Looks Into Asian Studio
Developer Gaming Innovation Group will be starting a partnership with the studio D-Tech. This studio is based in Hong Kong and this partnership sees GIG gaining 36% share of the company. GIG has said they wish to cherry pick a few of D-Tech’s best games to add permanently to their remote server service.
This deal also sees GIG get exclusive rights to these games outside of Hong Kong, before they will be released to other operators. Year of the Dog is the first title to be release later next month. In total, GIG will receive 8 exclusive pokies.
The founder of D-Tech, Harmen Brenninkmeijer praised the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship present at GIG. He has said this partnership is a match made in heaven due to the two companies shared values.
In response Mathias Larssson of GIG said that they welcome the level of experience that D-Tech brings to the table which will be an invaluable investment in GIG’s future content output. This puts them in a similar position as bigger companies who manage to release a large volume of new titles at a level that smaller companies like GIG cannot easily live up to, until now.
